During this extension of the Socorro trip (only offered to Socorro guests), Magdalena Bay will become our base.
Its the right time of the year for the Marlin run!
Schools of Striped Marlins (Kajikia audax) run after the sardines, which is the second worlds biggest sardines migration, after South Africa. You will find docents of Marlins pushing millions of sardines together as as so called bait ball.
In this pristine waters, it's not uncommon that dolphins, sea lions and even whales will join for the "dinner". This can be your real live National Geographic moment, when you get face to face with one of the fastest fish alive!
Magdalena Bay is not only known for the huge amount of biodiversity underwater, also for many marine birds as it's a nursing place for many of the species and of course the enormous white sand dunes - a remote paradise for everyone who loves pure nature!
Sea Lions in the Blue
Zalophus Californianus, Sea Lions at Magdalena Bay are frequently found playing around Marlins, also running after the beautiful silver colored sardines.
Beside Humpback Whales
While visiting Magdalena Bay, there are very high chances to encounter and interact with dolphins or humpback whales. And even, some times Orcas show up in the wild!
Scientist
Not only will we have trusted captains (all ex fisherman), we will also have a marine biologist with us who can give us more details about many of the species we hopefully encounter.
